This book takes a microscopic look at a young girls’ route in assimilation into her community and in her world. Kamille had been given away immediately after her birth from a white teen Mother during the late 1950’s. A curly haired child with stunning dimples found herself in a maze of activity in a community that was battling with integration between the Negro/Black people and the White/Caucasian people in the United States. Kamille’s memoir like chronicles are exciting and inspiring by her creativity in the methods that she chose to deal with her traumas, hardships and pain. Kamile required the basic human needs such as a shelter, food and love like all other people. At some point however, Kamille received much unwanted attention from the color coder’s who despised her presence in their community.
